Virgin Islands

The Virgin Islands is an archipelago in the Caribbean Sea composed of two principal areas: the US Virgin Islands (to the East and North) and the British Virgini Islands (to the West and South). The Virgin islands were so named by Christopher Columbus on his second voyage, after the legend of Saint Ursula and her 11,000 virgins.

US Virgin Islands

The US Virgin Islands were Denmark's only Caribbean properties. To date, they retain many facets of Danish architecture. Visiting the US Virgin Islands has several advantages for US citizens: English is spoken everywhere, US laws apply, all three US Virgin Islands are close to one another, and yet the islands retain a distinctive Caribbean charm.
